According to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, a welcoming ceremony will be held at Phu Quoc International Airport to commemorate the occasion. The program will include an official reception for the 20 millionth passenger arriving on an international flight, as well as an honors ceremony for three milestone visitors: the 19,999,999th, the 20,000,000th, and the 20,000,001st. Each guest will receive commemorative gifts from the tourism authorities.
Leaders of the tourism industry emphasized that reaching the 20-million-visitor mark underscores Vietnam’s rising stature on the global tourism map. They noted that the country continues to strengthen its position as a leading regional destination, offering travelers unique cultural heritage, diverse culinary traditions, pristine natural landscapes, and a wide range of high-quality travel experiences.
Official statistics show that Vietnam welcomed approximately 19 million international visitors in the first 11 months of 2025, representing a 20.4% increase over the same period in 2024. With steady growth in the fourth quarter and continued recovery in global travel demand, tourism authorities consider the 20-million-visitor milestone both attainable and well-supported by current trends.
Vietnam has set a target of welcoming 35 million international visitors by 2030, aiming to develop tourism into a key economic sector and further elevate the nation’s global profile.
