In September 2024, Hanoi welcomed a total of 2.16 million visitors, marking a 6.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Among them, international tourists were estimated at 510,600 arrivals, a 32% rise year-on-year (including 360,000 international visitors with overnight stays), while domestic tourists reached approximately 1.65 million, maintaining a similar level to the previous year.

Total revenue from tourism in September 2024 was estimated at VND8.6 trillion (US$341.3 million), reflecting a 12.8% growth on-year.

In January-September, Hanoi hosted some 21.1 million tourist arrivals, up 11.7% on-year. Of these, international arrivals soared 41% on-year to 4.5 million (including 3.14 million international tourists staying overnight), while domestic tourists numbered 16.7 million, up 5.8% on-year.

Total revenue from tourism during this period reached nearly VND82 trillion ($3.2 billion). The figure rose 19% on-year.

In September 2024, the average occupancy rate of hotels in Hanoi was 64.3%, up 6.73% compared to September 2023. For the first nine months of 2024, the average occupancy rate was estimated at 62.6%, an increase of 1.6% on-year.

Hanoi currently boasts more than 3,700 accommodation establishments offering a total of 71,200 rooms. This includes 81 hotels and apartment complexes rated from 1 to 5 stars.

Specifically, there are 22 five-star hotels with nearly 6,500 rooms, six high-end apartments with 1,360 rooms, 14 four-star hotels with 2,000 rooms, and two four-star high-end apartments with 450 rooms.

Hanoi features 45 certified food and beverage establishments, 43 shopping establishments, seven entertainment venues, and two health and wellness service providers recognized for meeting tourism service standards.
