Hanoi is highly capable of hosting MICE tourism events and activities, according to Nguyen Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism.
Speaking at the 2024 MICE Business Connection Event (MICE EXPO 2024) held on September 27, he said that Hanoi is a leading political, economic, cultural, and scientific-technical center of Vietnam.
As of September 2024, Hanoi boasts nearly 3,800 accommodating facilities with some 71,000 rooms, including hundreds of hotels and apartments rated from 1 to 5 stars, Minh said.

The city is able to accommodate some 50,000 guests, and at the same time serve thousands of participants for meetings, seminars, and events, he added.
“MICE tourism is the strength of Hanoi’s tourism sector. Developing and promoting MICE tourism is a key focus for Hanoi’s tourism industry,” the deputy director said.
The event, organized by the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) and the Vietnam MICE Tourism Club (VMC), was held in celebration of World Tourism Day. MICE tourism combines meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions designed for businesses and their employees or partners.
MICE EXPO 2024 attracted 500 businesses participating in business connection activities. During the event, tourism enterprises engaged in Business Matching (B2B) activities to exchange products, form large buyer groups, and sign cooperation agreements.
The event also featured the Vietnam MICE Tourism Development Forum, organized by VITA, along with a survey and product-building conference, which included the VMC Golf Cup 2024.
The MICE EXPO 2024 enabled tourism businesses and service providers to meet, exchange information, explore market trends and products, and expand partnerships.

It was a platform to discuss opportunities and challenges for developing professional, effective, and sustainable MICE tourism in Vietnam, based on the country’s green and digital transformation strategies.
“MICE tourism has grown significantly since the COVID-19 pandemic, connecting with activities such as exploration, relaxation, product innovation, promotion, and brand marketing,” said Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said.
“It has become a key tourism type with a positive impact on many other economic sectors,” he said.
“With its numerous scenic landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and increasingly modern tourism infrastructure, Vietnam has all the conditions to become a MICE hub in the region and globally,” he added.
